PURE SCOTTISH HIGHLANDS SPRING WATER SEALED IN ICE CUBE-TRAYS AT THE SOURCE

SCOTCH ROCKS® INTRODUCES PURE SCOTTISH HIGHLANDS SPRING WATER SEALED IN ICE-CUBE TRAYS AT THE SOURCE

June 15, 1999, New York, NY -- Scotch Rocks®, ready-to-freeze ice cubes that are sealed at their source at the Chapeltown Glenlivet Spring in the Scottish Highlands, were created to supply pure spring water packaged in pure, convenient, disposable ice-cube trays for domestic and commercial freezing and use.

Scotch Rocks®, which have a three-year shelf-life, are now available in America where they will retail for about $8 a box, each of which contains ten three-by-four-inch trays, each with four ice cubes. Scotch Rocks®, adorned with the Douglas clan blue and green colored tartan, are imported by DeMedici Imports of New York City and are being rolled out nationally to a broad variety of retail outlets from June 1, 1999.

Scotch Rocks® are particularly relevant today given the dynamic growth of bottled waters that demonstrate consumers demand for clean, authentic, even stylish and exotic waters. It is expected that many will also demand the same level of purity in the ice cubes they place in their favorite beverages. This is of particular importance since ice is a weak link in the food chain, because it quickly contaminates bacteriologically and the unhygienic handling of ice exposes consumers and businesses to risk. Ice also rapidly deteriorates in aroma and taste.

Scottish Highlands Spring water was selected for Scotch Rocks® because of its renown for physical and spiritual purity and will therefore maintain the integrity of mineral, branch and bottled waters, juices, green teas, smoothies and a multitude of other beverages as well as super-premium spirits such as fine whiskeys, vodkas, and, of course, Single Malt Whiskies and Scotch. Scotch Rocks® is also the ideal companion for tourists to countries where bottled rather than local tap water is imperative, for consumers who do not regularly use ice cubes and whose ice-cubes are therefore old, musty and/or semi-evaporated. Not least of Scotch Rocks® uses is as an original gift.

Because of its multitude of uses, it is expected that Scotch Rocks® will be appearing almost everywhere: in upscale bars, clubs, and restaurants; as an essential part of the well-educated bar in homes and businesses; in the park, at picnics and at a multitude of other places.

The Chapeltown Glenlivet Highlands Spring, renowned for the purity of its water for at least 3,000 years, is located on a British Crown-owned estate. The water quality is outstanding, in particular its extreme softness, with a rating of 16 milligrams of hardness per liter, the level at which water tastes most clean and refreshing to the human palate.

Scotch Rocks® is packaged within two virgin plastic films to keep the product in pristine condition under all climactic conditions and to guarantee its commercial sterility under all standards of handling.
