Badia a Coltibuono’s single-grove jewel, Albereto is pressed solely from organically farmed olives grown on Podere Albereto—the rocky, sage-scented terraces that overlook the Arno Valley at 450-520 m. Brilliant emerald in hue, wildly aromatic and alive with pepper, it brings the untamed spirit of early-harvest Tuscany to your table.

Why it stands above the rest

• 100 % Italian, single-estate & certified organic since 1994

• IGP Toscano seal; production limited to 18 ha (≈ 7,200 trees) on one historic hillside grove

• Cultivar blend: Leccio del Corno & Frantoio (estate-selected for this bottling)

• Hand-harvested, rushed to the mill the same day; cold-extracted < 28 °C and lightly filtered; typical acidity < 0.3 %

• Flavor profile: freshly cut grass, asparagus, tarragon & sage; assertive yet clean bitterness and a peppery finale—proof of sky-high polyphenols

• Gold Medal, New York International Olive Oil Competition 2023 & 2024

Serving & pairing ideas

• Swirl through Italian Baked Rice & Clams—its grassy bite heightens sweet shellfish and creamy Arborio.

• Classic “pinzimonio”: dunk raw seasonal vegetables straight into a dish of Albereto, sea salt & cracked pepper.

• Drizzle over beef or tuna carpaccio, or garnish Tuscan bean soups and vibrant salads.

• Finish grilled lamb chops, porcini-topped steak or simple steamed potatoes.

• Spoon onto fresh ricotta with lemon zest for a five-minute antipasto.

Producer story

Founded as a monastery in 1058, Badia a Coltibuono has been nurtured by six generations of the Stucchi Prinetti family. Podere Albereto—one of their oldest holdings—supplies the olives for this limited bottling. Pickers scale the steep terraces by hand, bringing fruit to the estate mill within hours; continuous extraction below 28 °C preserves volatile aromatics, and nitrogen-flushed bottles lock them in. Each harvest yields only a few thousand liters of this micro-terroir expression of Chianti’s eastern slopes.

Storage

Keep the dark bottle tightly capped, away from heat and light. Enjoy within 18 months of harvest for peak aroma and bite.

From a last flourish on sautéed greens to the finishing drizzle on baked rice and clams, Albereto Extra-Virgin Olive Oil turns everyday cooking into a bold taste of the Tuscan hills.
