NEAR THE ANCIENT TOWN OF CORRENS-VAR, SITS CHÂTEAU MIRAVAL, TUCKED AWAY IN ITS OWN VALLEY SURROUNDED BY VINEYARDS, OLIVE TREES AND OLD FOREST. In addition to its award-winning white and rosé wines, Miraval produces a limited edition of extra virgin olive oil. 26 acres of organic olive groves are cultivated on Roman-era dry stone terraces. Warm, sunny days, cool nights, and fertile soil contribute to oil with an exceptional terroir. The oil is skillfully blended from the château’s olives and 100% organic olives from neighboring groves, using the finest modern extraction methods.
CULTIVAR: A blend of 100% Organic Lucques, Caillon, Aglandau, Cailletier, Tanche, and Boursallus local varietals.
NOTES: This spring allowed for a beautiful blossoming and average fruit setting, promising a good harvest at Château Miraval. The somewhat arid summer limited the outbreak of pests. Harvest started in late October to promote the green fruitiness in our oil. This harvest is delicate and suave, with a sustained green fruitiness. It develops beautiful peppery and artichoke notes with a long finish—an excellent year for our gastronomic olive oil, both in quantity and quality.
