Señor Avelino Veá has preserved the traditional methods of cultivation and blending and has elevated those standards by introducing the latest production techniques. Veá has earned recognition among the world’s most discerning chefs and restaurateurs who value the oil for its fine subtle flavor and consistency.
Today a member of Veá's family still maintains these principles and strives to surpass these levels each year. Veá has developed new extraction methods and, at the same time, rigorously preserved the traditional methods for harvesting and selecting. Today their goal is still to select only the better oils for bottling under their L'Estornell, VEÀ and Les Costes brands. Today their oils rank among the best in the world.
Under the “L'Estornell” brand – catalan word for a type of bird that likes olives very much and comes to “help” during harvest time – we bottle two different oils: extra virgin olive oil and a certified organic one, plus a wine vinegar made of “Garnacha” grapes.
